How to IRL Stream on Kick from Your Phone

March 21, 2026

IRL Streaming to Kick from Your Phone

Kick is growing fast and IRL content performs well there. The setup is almost identical to Twitch — the main difference is your Kick stream key goes in OBS, not in IRLHost.

The flow: Phone → IRLHost relay → Your OBS at home → Kick
IRLHost stabilises your mobile connection. OBS receives the clean stream and sends it to Kick. Your Kick stream key lives in OBS — not in IRLHost.

What You Need

  • iPhone or Android smartphone
  • Streaming app: Moblin (iPhone) or IRL Pro (Android)
  • A relay server: IRLHost
  • A PC with OBS (or Streamlabs/vMix) at home
  • A Kick account
  • Power bank

Step 1: Get Your IRLHost Relay

Sign up at irlhost.gg and create a relay server. You will get a SRT ingest URL and stream key. Keep these — you will need them in your streaming app.

Step 2: Set Up OBS to Stream to Kick

On your home PC, open OBS and go to Settings → Stream. Select Kick as your platform and enter your Kick stream key. This is the normal OBS streaming setup — nothing IRLHost-specific here.

Then in OBS, add a Media Source in your scene pointing to your IRLHost relay SRT ingest URL. This is how OBS receives the stabilised stream from your phone via IRLHost.

Step 3: Set Up Your Phone App

In Moblin or IRL Pro, configure the stream settings to point at your IRLHost relay server address with your IRLHost stream key. Your phone only needs to know about IRLHost — OBS handles everything from there.

Step 4: Test and Go Live

Start streaming from your phone, verify OBS is receiving the feed, then go live on Kick from OBS. Check that your stream appears on Kick on another device before announcing publicly.

Tips for Kick IRL Streaming

  • SRTLA bonding: Enable it in Moblin or IRL Pro to combine WiFi and mobile data — IRLHost handles the bonding server-side for maximum stability
  • H.265 encoding: IRLHost is codec-agnostic — it relays whatever codec your encoder uses, which gives better quality at lower bitrates — useful in areas with weak signal
  • Go live consistently: Kick rewards regular streaming with better discovery
  • Stream longer: Kick recommends at least 2 hours for algorithmic reach

Can You Stream to Both Kick and Twitch Simultaneously?

Yes — multistreaming is done in OBS. Tools like Restream or OBS multistream plugins let you send from OBS to multiple platforms at once. IRLHost delivers one stable feed to OBS, and OBS handles the multistream distribution.
