What does IRLHost actually do for me?
IRLHost keeps your stream stable when your mobile signal changes. After you sign up, you get a connection address you paste into your streaming app. It works with SRT and SRTLA, so most encoders and mobile apps will connect. Your stream goes through our servers instead of straight from your phone to Twitch or Kick, which makes it much more resilient to bad signal.

IRLHost sits between your encoder and your platform as a relay accepting SRT and SRTLA. This decouples the unstable mobile uplink from the stable platform ingest, letting bonding and error-correction absorb network variation before it reaches the output.
How fast can I go live after signing up?
About 5 minutes. After you sign up, your connection details are ready. Copy the address, paste it into your streaming app, and you are ready to go live. If you want chat commands and auto scene switching, that takes a few extra minutes: install IRLHost Link (our Windows and macOS desktop app), pick your platform, and enter your channel name.
If I switch encoders or apps, do I need another relay connection?
No. Each relay connection is one path and one stream key. SRT and SRTLA share it, so new encoder setups do not require a second connection. Plus includes one relay connection.
Do I need technical knowledge to use it?
No. The basics are just copy-pasting a server address into your streaming app. The more advanced features like chat commands have a guided setup, but nothing requires technical knowledge.
Reliability and stability
What happens if my connection gets unstable mid-stream?
If you have Scene Control set up, your stream automatically switches to a BRB scene so viewers see something clean instead of a frozen or broken feed. When signal comes back, it switches back to your live scene on its own. You do not have to touch anything.
For the tech-curious
Scene Control monitors bitrate from the relay in real time. When it drops below your configured threshold, it triggers an OBS scene change automatically. Recovery triggers a second scene change when the signal stabilises.
Can mods control stream behavior while I am outside?
Yes. Once the IRLHost bot is set up, your mods can type commands in chat to switch scenes, restart the stream connection, or check how your signal is doing. You define who gets to do what, so sensitive actions stay with you and your mods.
Is my connection shared with other streamers?
Your connection is private and isolated. Your stream key, your address, your traffic. The underlying servers are shared infrastructure, similar to how web hosting works, but no one else can access or affect your stream.

Each customer gets their own SRT/SRTLA endpoint and stream key on shared server infrastructure. Traffic isolation is handled at the connection level.
Compatibility
Which apps and devices work with IRLHost?
If it can send SRT or SRTLA, it works. On mobile that includes Larix, Moblin, IRL Pro, and Belabox. On desktop, OBS Studio.
Does it work with Twitch and Kick?
Yes. IRLHost works with both. The chat bot supports Twitch and Kick, and IRLHost Studio can stream to both at the same time if you are on the Pro plan.
Do I need to open ports or handle any technical setup?
No. IRLHost sets everything up on our end. You just copy your connection details and paste them into your app.

What is the difference between SRT and SRTLA?
SRT is a video transport protocol designed for unreliable networks. It handles packet loss and retransmission better than the older RTMP standard. SRTLA builds on top of SRT and adds the ability to combine multiple internet connections at once, so if your Wi-Fi weakens, your mobile data picks up the slack.
How does the automatic scene switching work?
Scene Control watches your stream health and triggers OBS scene changes automatically. You set the thresholds, it handles the switching.
