How to Set Up IRL Pro with IRLHost for SRTLA Streaming

The flow: Android phone → IRL Pro → IRLHost relay → Your OBS at home → Twitch/Kick
IRLHost stabilises your mobile connection using SRT/SRTLA. OBS receives the clean stream and sends it to your platform. Your stream key goes in OBS — not in IRLHost.

What You Need

  • Android phone with IRL Pro installed
  • A computer at home running OBS (almost any modern PC or Mac works)
  • An IRLHost relay server
  • Mobile data and/or WiFi

Step 1: Set Up Your IRLHost Relay

Sign in to your IRLHost dashboard at irlhost.gg. Create a relay server and note down your SRT ingest URL and stream key. Keep this open — you will need it in IRL Pro.

Step 2: Set Up OBS on Your Home PC

Open OBS on your home computer. Go to Settings → Stream and configure your Twitch or Kick stream key there as normal.

Then in your OBS scene, add a Media Source pointing to your IRLHost relay SRT ingest URL. This is how OBS receives the stabilised stream from your phone via IRLHost.

Step 3: Configure IRL Pro on Your Android Phone

Open IRL Pro. Go to Settings → Stream and select SRT or SRTLA as your protocol. Enter your IRLHost details:

  • Server: Your IRLHost relay hostname
  • Port: The port shown in your IRLHost dashboard
  • Stream ID: Your IRLHost stream key
  • Latency: Start with 2000ms

Step 4: Enable SRTLA Bonding (Recommended)

If you have WiFi available alongside your mobile data, enable SRTLA in IRL Pro. SRTLA bonds both connections together — IRLHost handles the bonding server-side. This dramatically improves stability, especially in crowded areas or when moving between signal zones.

Step 5: Go Live

Start streaming in IRL Pro, verify OBS is receiving the feed from IRLHost, then go live in OBS. Monitor your IRLHost dashboard to see bitrate and connection stats.

Tips for Better Performance

  • Keep your phone screen on while streaming — some Android devices throttle network when the screen is off
  • Use a phone mount that does not block your antenna lines
  • In crowded areas, try 3000ms latency for more buffer
  • IRLHost is codec-agnostic — it relays whatever codec your encoder uses. If your phone supports H.265/HEVC encoding, enable it for better quality at lower bitrates without any changes needed on the IRLHost side
  • Choose the IRLHost server region closest to your location for lowest latency
