How to Multistream IRL to Twitch and Kick at the Same Time
IRLHost delivers one stable stream to OBS. OBS handles sending it to multiple platforms simultaneously. Your stream keys for Twitch and Kick live in OBS — not in IRLHost.
Why Multistream in 2026?
Kick is growing fast. IRL content performs well there, and the 95/5 revenue split is far more generous than Twitch. Many streamers are choosing not to choose — they stream to both platforms at once and let the audience find them wherever they are.
The good news: if you already have an IRLHost relay, multistreaming costs nothing extra. Your phone sends one stream to IRLHost, and OBS distributes it from there. You just need to configure OBS to push to two destinations instead of one.
What You Need
- An IRLHost relay server — irlhost.gg, €11.99/month + VAT
- A PC at home running OBS (version 30 or later recommended)
- Your Twitch stream key and your Kick stream key
- Moblin (iPhone) or IRL Pro (Android) for streaming from your phone
Option 1: OBS Multiple Stream Output (OBS 30+)
OBS 30 introduced a built-in multiple stream output, which is the simplest way to multistream without third-party tools.
- Open OBS and go to Settings → Stream
- Configure your primary platform (e.g. Twitch) with your Twitch stream key as normal
- Go to Tools → Multiple Stream Output
- Add Kick as a second output — select Custom RTMP and enter your Kick stream key and Kick ingest URL
- Start the second output before going live
Both streams run from OBS simultaneously. IRLHost sends one stable feed to OBS, and OBS handles distributing it to each platform.
Option 2: Restream.io
Restream is a dedicated multistreaming service. Instead of streaming directly from OBS to each platform, you point OBS at Restream, and Restream distributes your stream to all your connected platforms.
- Create a free account at restream.io and connect your Twitch and Kick accounts
- In OBS, go to Settings → Stream and select Restream as your service
- Enter your Restream stream key
- Restream handles the distribution to each platform
The free Restream plan includes multistreaming to two platforms. Paid plans add more destinations and analytics.
Option 3: OBS with the Multiple RTMP Outputs Plugin
If you are on an older version of OBS or want more control, the free Multiple RTMP Outputs OBS plugin lets you send to as many platforms as you want simultaneously. Install it from obsproject.com/forum, then configure each platform as a separate output in OBS.
Setting Up Your IRL Source in OBS
Regardless of which multistreaming method you choose, your OBS scene setup stays the same:
- In your main OBS scene, add a Media Source pointing to your IRLHost relay SRT ingest URL
- This is how OBS receives your phone stream from IRLHost
- OBS then distributes that single feed to all your configured platforms
Your IRLHost dashboard shows your inbound connection from your phone. What happens after OBS receives it is entirely OBS territory.
Does Kick Allow Multistreaming?
Kick allows multistreaming for most streamers. If you are on a Kick exclusivity deal or in their partner programme, check your contract terms first — some partner agreements restrict or limit multistreaming. For the vast majority of streamers, there are no restrictions.
Twitch has no multistreaming restrictions for non-partnered streamers. Twitch Partners are subject to exclusivity clauses in their partner agreement.
Performance Considerations
When multistreaming, your OBS PC is encoding and uploading multiple streams simultaneously. A few things to keep in mind:
- Upload bandwidth: You are uploading to two platforms at once, so you need roughly double the upload bandwidth compared to single-platform streaming. A 4000 kbps stream to Twitch plus 4000 kbps to Kick requires around 8+ Mbps upload from your home connection
- OBS encoding load: Using the Restream method offloads some of the bandwidth work — OBS uploads once to Restream and Restream handles the rest. The OBS multiple output methods upload directly from your PC to each platform
- IRLHost is unaffected: The relay only serves one inbound connection from your phone and one outbound to OBS. Multistreaming only adds load to OBS and your home internet — not to your relay
Chat When Multistreaming
One challenge with multistreaming: you have chat in two places at once. Tools like Restream Chat and Chatterino merge multiple chat streams into a single view. NOALBS (included with IRLHost) can be configured to monitor chat commands from both Twitch and Kick simultaneously.
Summary
- Your IRLHost relay delivers one stable feed to OBS — multistreaming is handled entirely by OBS
- OBS 30+ has built-in multiple stream output — simplest option
- Restream.io is a free alternative that reduces upload load on your home connection
- Check your platform partner agreements before multistreaming
- IRLHost works exactly the same whether you stream to one platform or ten
